Orange Ground Beef

I know a couple posts ago I mentioned how large the gap was between new posts, well this beats it. It felt like 6 months but was two months. And even more than that since my last recipe post. I will admit to getting lazy. I am constantly making new recipes I just never write down what I put in it nor do I take pictures. I hope this changes. This post wont have the best photos, I took them with my iPhone, but its a recipe and it was really good. Hope you enjoy. Orange Ground Beef Ingredients: 1/2 Cup Toasted Coconut Flakes (toast at 300• for about 15 minutes stirring frequently.) 2 lbs Ground Beef 1/2 Cup Cashews 3-5 Stalks of Celery Chopped (you could use bell pepper) 1 Onion Sliced Juice of 2 oranges 1 Cup Bone Broth 1.5 Cups Pineapple Chunks 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder 2 teaspoons Coconut Aminos 1.5 Tablespoons Arrowroot Powder 1/4 teaspoon Cardamom 1 teaspoon Tumeric 1 teaspoon Ginger...

Asian Inspired Pot Roast with Cauliflower Rice

I feel like its been awhile since I have posted something new. So here we go. I am trying to get a couple posts done this week since we are starting to paint and move into our new home next week. Lots of changes happening over here. I was also lucky enough to make it to the 1st Annual Ancestral Health Symposium this year. You can catch videos of the presentations here. And slides of the presentations live here. If you want to check out what some people thought about the whole even check this post out from Richard Nikoley. I think this is the most complete post so far. Overall I thought it was an incredible event. The fact that a few hundred people go together to talk about this way of life, regardless of what side of the fence they fell on. Be it low-carb or high-carb, high-fat or low-fat,...

Quick Ground Meat Curry

May 9, 2011  |  Food  |  Share

Yesterday we got back from a long weekend of going to my Sister's Graduation and helping her move. It was a 5 hour drive through eastern Washington. Needless to say when we got home we didn't have a lot of food around the house and weren't in the mood to go shopping or take the time to cook a meal. I decided to make a curry dish since we had 1pound of ground beef and 1pound of ground buffalo. We had burgers for lunch and dinner the night before so that wasn't happening again. We also had a sweet potato and a head of cauliflower so I roasted these and it turned out good enough to share with you. Quick Ground Meat Curry Ingredients: 1 Tablespoon Ghee (or coconut oil) 2 Pounds of Ground meat 1 Red Onion 1 Zucchini (I would add more if I had it) 1 Can Coconut Milk 2 Tablespoons Tomato paste 2 Tablespoons Curry Powder 1/4...

Really Quick!

March 21, 2011  |  Food  |  Share

Quick meal ideas. I am sure this is a common problem in many households. I know it is in ours. The biggest problem is that I like to cook and am always trying out new recipes. This can be a little time consuming. And while I get home around 6, Nolan our son is already hungry. And he is not very patient when it comes to food. Jamie tries to help out the best she can, but when you have a 21 month old running around the house getting into everything cooking isn't the easiest task to complete. So, lately we have been trying to come up with quicker meal options. My next few posts will have ideas and recipes for quick meals. I know quick is a general term and others might not consider these quick. The thing is we do not microwave our food and do want to make...
