A few months ago a purchased an awesome jerky gun. I bought it at Cabela's when I was picking up my 1/2 cow in the parking lot. Fitting right. I bought it here because they had a high quality stainless steel model. I didn't want to get plastic because I have heard they can break. But, if you just want to try out a cheaper option totally go with a plastic one. I love my jerky gun. Plus I am able to use ground beef which is so much cheaper than buying a hunk of meat. I made two different recipes. Mainly because I wanted to tweak one and came up with a whole different recipe. I ran out of Coconut Aminos so I had to improvise. It worked out though. Although I have no idea what to call the recipes. Also, I didn't use any nightshades because I am in the...

Luckily I came across Bragg's ACV drink. It tastes great, but costs like $3-4 and has a little bit a stevia in it. I know the amount of stevia is minimal, but it's still there. So I figured I could make this drink myself. Granted its not as sweet as the Bragg's drink, but it's still easier to drink than straight up ACV. I believe I put more ACV in my version too. Its a lot darker so, yes it is stronger tasting. Benefits? Well if you just google Benefits of ACV you will get all kinds of answers. I started drinking it to help aid digestion and get things going in the morning. I take a few large...
Read More Post a comment (0)I am going to try my hand at writing more posts, that aren't just food recipes. I am sure the first few posts like this will be a little scrambled as I am not a writer and my thoughts are all over the place. I am not sure where to begin. I guess I could talk about my kids and how proud I was the other day at a Birthday party my oldest, Nolan 3.5 yrs. attended. I was proud of him because there was pizza and cake to be had, but he turned it down for apples and the Paleo cookies that we brought. Of course he wanted more than the two cookies we gave him, but he was really hungry because he didn't want to eat dinner before the party. Snacks have been a struggle in our house lately. At school he has been eating the snack provided, not...

Next hard boil the eggs. Now you want to heat your skillet with some coconut oil and add in the chopped onion and garlic. While the onion and garlic are cooking, salt and pepper both sides of your steaks. When the onion is translucent add in the spinach and top with mustard. Once the spinach is wilted pour your balsamic and top. Now peel the eggs and place in the middle of your cube steaks. If your steaks aren’t already nice and flat, you may want to flatten them with your hammer. Next, divide the spinach mixture evenly onto the steaks. Roll the steaks up and wrap with a piece of bacon. Use a...

And even more than that since my last recipe post. I will admit to getting lazy. I am constantly making new recipes I just never write down what I put in it nor do I take pictures. I hope this changes. This post wont have the best photos, I took them with my iPhone, but its a recipe and it was really good. Hope you enjoy. Orange Ground Beef Ingredients: 1/2 Cup Toasted Coconut Flakes (toast at 300• for about 15 minutes stirring frequently.) 2 lbs Ground Beef 1/2 Cup Cashews 3-5 Stalks of Celery Chopped (you could use bell pepper) 1 Onion Sliced Juice of 2 oranges 1 Cup Bone Broth 1.5 Cups Pineapple Chunks 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder 2 teaspoons Coconut Aminos 1.5 Tablespoons Arrowroot Powder 1/4 teaspoon Cardamom 1 teaspoon Tumeric 1 teaspoon Ginger...
Read More Post a comment (3)OK, so this post is long overdue. I can easily say this is one of my favorite cookbooks, Paleo or not. I can just sit here and flip through this book for tons of inspiration. The pictures in this book have set the standard for all cookbooks that come after. Bill and Haley from The Food Lovers Primal Palate really set the bar high. With over 200 recipes that anyone can create with the amazing directions and pictures this is money well spent. I bought this book when it originally came out and even with all the cookbooks that I have purchased since, this one still gets used the most. Just listen to a few of these recipes... Mint Lamb Burgers Rosemary Roasted Turkey Pineapple Glazed Chicken Skewers And don't even get me started on their Treats and Cheats... No seriously, if I was able to have any cookbook authors cook a meal for...
Read MoreIt has been awhile since I have posted a recipe, I know. I have a few more that are close to ready, just need to take pictures blah blah blah. I know you don't care about all that. Also, I have been following an autoimmune protocol to try and figure out some skin issues. I have had eczema as long as I can remember. When I first went Paleo it got tons better, but has now reared its ugly head again. The protocol I have been following is from Diane Sanfillippo's new book Practical Paleo. Check out my review here. Or, don't waste your time and just buy it. Enough about me, lets get to the recipe. Baked Cod with Mushrooms and Coconut Milk Ingredients: 5-6 fillets of Cod 1.5 Cups of sliced mushrooms Few cloves of garlic diced 2 Tablespoons palm oil or coconut oil or butter Dill-fresh would be best, but dried will work. 1/2 cup...
Read More Post a comment (0)My youngest is 10 months old now! I cannot believe that time has flown by so quickly! My blog has been very quiet and I’ve been thinking about this topic for the last three months now but just haven’t made the time to actually post my thoughts. Again, I’m not a Nutritionist, Doctor, etc. in any way, shape or form, but just a second time mother that’s completely Paleo this time around. I love my Paleo treats, but never cheat with gluten or refined sugars. Lately, I’ve had tons of compliments or ass backward comments on my weight loss. I get people saying how great I look or asking how much I weigh because I guess…in their eyes… I’m too skinny. My energy level, drive, skin and hair have never looked so good …actually! That’s how I measure healthy. I’m not exercising right now…I wish I had the time and finances...
Read More Post a comment (4)I have been going back and forth on how I should start this post. I really can't decide. So I will just start off by saying, WOW, this book is amazing. Diane from Balanced Bites, really hit it out of the park with this book. I wish when I started my Paleo journey that I would have had this book at my disposal. I think this book will be accessible to everyone from a Paleo veteran to someone who eats cereal all day. You can tell a lot of thought went into the structure and layout of the book. The first part of the book is an intro to Paleo and why we should be eating whole foods. It's very easy to understand. You get some of the science, but it is never overwhelming. Also included are some awesome guides. They are for quick references ranging from leaky gut, a guide to...
